    What Is Integrated Recovery?

Our Integrated Recovery group meets once a week, separated by gender, to discuss the many different behavioral addictions which are often prevalent with substance abuse, i.e. eating disorders, sex, gambling, work, money, etc. Those suffering from multiple addictions utilize this group by discussing the difficulties they combat aside from drugs and alcohol. Oftentimes, clients are able to create links between different co-occurring addictions, associating one thought or action with the other. These associated mannerisms can act as triggers, causing urges for one addiction when engaging with another. If a client suffers from a behavioral addiction and does not address it, they will struggle with their recovery and, ultimately, may relapse. With all addictions, whether it be substance, process, co-occurring, etc., the behaviors they display and the mindset they produce are all the same. We split these groups by gender in order to provide a safe environment to process. We attempt to identify the “root” cause of these addictions, many of which are trauma based. In such cases, many of our clients choose to engage in our Trauma Recovery Groups as well.

How Integrated Recovery Can Benefit You?

An integrated recovery is an approach to addiction treatment that addresses not just the physical aspect of addiction, but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. This type of recovery program takes into account the fact that addiction is a complex and multifaceted disease that affects not just the individual struggling with it, but also their loved ones and the community as a whole.

Integrated recovery programs typically include a combination of evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, as well as alternative therapies, such as yoga and meditation. They also often include support groups, such as 12-step programs, and a focus on building a healthy and sober lifestyle.

One example of an integrated recovery program is the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offered at Integrated Recovery in Florida, specifically in boynton beach and fort Lauderdale. This program is designed for individuals who are looking to continue their recovery journey but need a more flexible and less restrictive treatment option than inpatient rehab. IOP typically includes group therapy, individual counseling, and support groups, as well as skills training and education on addiction and recovery.

The benefits of integrated recovery are numerous. By addressing all aspects of addiction, integrated recovery programs can help individuals achieve long-term recovery and improve their overall well-being. They can also help reduce the risk of relapse and improve the individual’s ability to function in daily life. Additionally, integrated recovery programs can also help improve the relationships and support systems of the individual, which can be critical for long-term recovery success.
