When you finish residential drug treatment, there’s a transition. It’s a definite change from the Residential Treatment facility and schedule that you have become accustomed to. But change no longer means failure. You are prepared for this. The staff and support team that you have worked so hard alongside are still going to be there for you. You will be transitioning into an Inpatient Outpatient Program (IOP). Freedom from addiction is continued into this program, with therapy and counseling, support groups, and the newly acquired skills you’ve gained during your residential stay moving forward with you.

With this support network in place to help you maintain your sobriety and successfully transition back into your daily life, IOP programs offer therapy, counseling, and support groups on a part-time basis, allowing you to gradually transition back into your daily routine while still receiving therapeutic support. The community you grew to know and love will continue to provide peer support and opportunities to work through recovery steps with others who have similar experiences. You will continue to gain freedom with every new set of circumstances that you face in the Outpatient Program. It’s a great time to practice and grow the skills you have learned while in Residential Treatment. Participate in activities that promote your physical and emotional well-being, such as a healthy diet, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep.

Remember that everyone’s journey in recovery is unique, and the type of support you need may be adjusted over time. The IOP will help you stay committed to your recovery and seek help when needed. Surrounding yourself with a strong support network and continuing to engage in therapies and activities that promote sobriety can greatly increase your chances of long-term success in recovery.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) allows clients to get intense therapy up to six days a week over a four week period while living at home or staying at a sober facility.

Designed for clients living at home or in sober housing, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) includes 10+ hours of treatment a week, in addition to group and individual therapy.

Our Relapse Prevention sessions are conducted by our Ft. Lauderdale Clinical Director, Genna Risucci, and our Boynton Beach Clinical Director, Grady Ricca. In addition, therapists Amy Seltzer and Jackie Cheney also support these sessions.
To ensure the safety and effectiveness of our therapy practices, The Beachcomber only provides treatment options which have been thoroughly researched and proven successful by medical science.

Trauma Therapy aims to eliminate negative emotional or behavioral influences triggered by remembered, repressed, or even forgotten traumatic events.

Our Integrated Recovery group meets once a week, separated by gender, to discuss the many different behavioral addictions which are often prevalent with substance abuse, i.e. eating disorders, sex, gambling, work, money, etc.

One of our specialty groups that we offer at The Beachcomber is the LGBT group. This group meets once per week and is led by an LGBT therapist who is also in recovery. Clients are also encouraged to meet with this therapist once per week to work on LGBT-related issues.

This group helps clients identify the feelings surrounding their upbringing, which provides the clarity needed to look forward in life and experience a successful recovery.

A group created for those struggling with the effects of addiction alongside the challenges of aging. Clients are provided a safe environment to work through their sensitive issues that can significantly impact their recovery.

Children of alcoholic and drug-addicted parents are often among those most impacted by addiction. This class addresses those long-lasting impacts through therapeutic intervention.

Outpatient Therapy is designed to help clients maintain their sobriety while they are integrating further into their outside programs of recovery and 12-step fellowships.

Continuum of Care can often be the client’s best chance for their long term recovery goals. Not every individual after completing an inpatient program is ready to go back into regular life.

Transition from Residential Treatment to IOP
